Kevin J. McNeely was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1963. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1986 from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Mr. McNeely received Juris Doctor of Law and Master of Law degrees from New England School of Law and from New York University School of Law, respectively. In the Master of Law program at NYU School of Law, Mr. McNeely focused on patent, trademark and related intellectual property course work. He also completed graduate level courses in mobile and wireless communications from George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Mr. McNeely's patent prosecution docket emphasizes electrical and mechanical equipment, computer hardware and software, Internet applications, and business methods and other technology patents . He also has experience handling international PCT patents under the Patent Cooperation Treaty. His telecommunications practice includes spread spectrum transmitters, satellite communications, wireless local area networks, mobile radio transceivers, telephony systems, and scientific, industrial and medical equipment. Mr. McNeely also has experience advising technology clients concerning intellectual property protection, trademarks, licensing, contracts and litigation matters.
Mr. McNeely began his legal career as an Assistant Attorney General and as an Assistant District Attorney in Massachusetts where he gained significant experience in administrative litigation and trial practice. Mr. McNeely served as adjunct faculty at Northeastern University teaching Internet and telecommunications law. He was also the monthly technology law columnist for the Providence Business News. Mr. McNeely is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Federal Communications Bar Association, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He is admitted to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office, the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, New York, and Rhode Island.
